Wednesday,July 7th Leaving Toward Moscow

I'm writing tomorrow's blog today as tomorrow we will be heading out for Moscow. It normally takes two days to get there (comfortable pace) however, we have all voted on staying somewhere between here and there for one night and pushing on so that we get there on Thursday (nice to have one extra day there as there is a lot to see). We will be visiting the Red Square, the Kremlin, Gorky Park and a whole bunch of stuff. Apparently we will be seeing Stalin's body (at least that's who I think they said) there. So, just trying to get ahead of the game. Also, so far no one has been injured. We had one person who was sick for a day (back in Salzburg, Austria) but aside from Mick (tour leader) feeling a bit rough just prior to the ferry ride and then all of the ferry ride to Sochi (he didn't get sick though) and Joe feeling not so good last night (praying to the porcelin gods), all has been well. Lots of highway driving, in case you are thinking about doing this trip. Almost all of us have 650 GS's. Pat has a Dakar, Murray is an 800, I'll have to check what Isaac is driving, Joe is a 650 as I am also and Mick from Tasmania, Mick the tour leader has a 1200 GS.

  2. Just wonder if you made it to Moscow today... We are looking forward to seeing the pictures. Another very warm day in Muskoka. We went out on the boat this morning and have just been in the comfort of the air conditioning the rest of the day. We are so glad that we have it.
