We now have entered the next phase of the trip that will be consisting mainly of camping and that we have heard that "The Road of Bones" which is on the way to Magadan (we are three weeks away) is currently closed as the rivers are too high and no one can cross. Apparently, there is snow in some of the areas such as Mongolia and northern Russia. We think these conditions will have changed by the time we get there and will be trying anyway, however it is good reading to prepare us for what is currently going on in these regions. We will be going through mud. We have heard that a group that has travelled in Mongolia fell off their bikes about 40 times in 7 kms. due to the mud. No one gets hurt when they fall in the mud because they are going at very, very slow speeds. Though, by the time we get there, it probably will have cleared some.

  2. Looking forward to seeing some photos from the Road of Bones! There are currently two other people riding from Magadan that just completed the Gulag Road and I believe they are crossing the Road of Bones as well. Maybe your group will cross paths with them.
